Sunday night ended on a sad note as a prominent personality from the world of entertainment left us. Tamil actor-director Rajashekar, who is quite popular in the world of Television left for the heavenly abode. Rajshekhar passed away on September 8, 2019. The director, who resided in Valsaravakkam, Chennai, was getting treated in the city's Ramachandra Hospital. He succumbed to death post prolonged illness.
Sivamayam, telecasted in Sun Tv, was one of the proud productions by Radaan Media Works, headed by Mrs. Radhila Sarathkumar. This serial has the credit for proving that Radaan Media Works can excel in thrillers too. Rajashekhar entered the Tamil film industry as a director. Movies like Palaivanacholai and Chinnapoove Mella Pesu have been credited to his name as a director. He had made his directorial debut alongside Robert Ashirwatham in the movie Kudisai. Rajashekar and Robert then went on to collaborate for movies like Oru Thalai Ragam, Palaivanacholai and Chinnapoove Mella Pesu. The two were credited as Robert-Rajasekhar. Palaivanacholai which starred Suhasini Manirathnam was in fact a super hit.
Rajashekar made his acting debut with Nizhalgal, directed by Bharathirajaa. A student of Film Institute in Chennai, Rajashekhar was primarily known for his works in Tamil Television industry, which can also be called ‘chinna thirai’. He found success in the TV show Saravanan Meenakshi. As an actor he has been part of several projects like Talambralu, Shrutilayalu, Aahuti, Ankusham, Magaadu, Allari Priyudu, Anna, Omkaram, Suryudu, Sivayya, Manasunna Maaraju, Maa Annayya, Simharasi, Evadaithe Nakenti and Gorintaku, among many others.
