2. What is Vocaloid software? VOCALOID is a singing voice synthesis technology developed by Yamaha Corporation. VOCALOID software allows users to input melody and lyrics in order to synthesize a singing voice. In other words, a singing voice can be produced without a human singer by using this technology.
3. For the most part, no. You may have some options. For a regular VOCALOID that’s cheap, the first companies you may want to look to is Zero-G, a company that develops English VOCALOIDs.

LOLA's voice provider is said to be heard in a demo, here. (Archived on October 27, 2005.) The song, 'Beloved Tomboyish Girl' was covered by LOLA and posted on Nico Nico Douga on March 3, 2004. This was the first VOCALOID song to be uploaded onto Nico Nico Douga. It was originally removed and then later re-added in 2007.

MAIKA is a virtual singer that allows you to create vocal parts on your computer without the need of recording a real singer. MAIKA has a powerful feminine voice. In the lower registers she has a softer, more airy voice, while in the higher registers she has a more intense timbre. She has an extraordinarily broad pitch range, which switches from a chest voice to a head voice in the highest registers. This makes her voice suited for a large range of musical genres and styles.

While MAIKA is a Spanish voice bank, she includes an extended range of phonemes which allow for great flexibility in pronunciation. You can check out some demos of MAIKA singing in other languages such as: Portuguese, Italian, Catalan, English and Japanese.

1. MAIKA's [I0] corresponds to English VOCALOID's [I], whereas MAIKA's [I] is used in falling diphthongs such as [a I].
2. MAIKA's [r] corresponds to an English [r].
3. MAIKA's [j] is generally equivalent to her [j] (which is preferred); typically [j] is only used in words starting in 'y-' or 'hie-'.
4. MAIKA's [L0] is a more lateralized variant of her [L].

Note: When using MAIKA, VOCALOID Editor will only automatically transcribe lyrics entered in Spanish; for other languages, phonemes have to be entered manually or using a job plug-in.

Crypton Future Media has revealed the next era of their synthesizer software. Lana del rey love song. Hatsune Miku NT, short for “New Type”, has been revealed!

Furthermore, the early announcement explains that Hatsune Miku’s latest update will be released in August, 2020! Until then, Hatsune Miku NT is up for pre-order on Sonicwire.

According to CFM, Hatsune Miku NT will be released with three different voice types. The one currently confirmed is “Original”. The beta to try it will be mid-March, 2020.

Also, Hatsune Miku NT will come with new Piapro Studio software. As a result, users will be able to edit Miku’s voice with more expression!

Piapro Studio’s voice editing has unique characteristics, too! According to the official product page, they are:

• Super Formant Shifter: Controls voice quality and allows for voice modulation like VOCALOID’s GEN. The bank can be adjusted to sound higher or lower. Essentially, it will allow Miku to retain the core characteristics of her voice despite being altered.
• Voice Drive: Controls how the voice will shake and flow, as well as vocal strength. Additionally, the feature creates growl and voice rattling. This is similar to the GWL function of VOCALOID4.
• Voice Voltage: Controls how strong or weak the voice performs.

According to Sonicwire’s page, the voice package comes with a special edition of Studio One from PreSonus; the “Studio One Artist Piapro Edition”. This will allow users to create songs with access to over 500 virtual instruments.

Finally, Piapro Studio will be compatible as a VST plugin, which allows for users to edit the vocal alongside composing music in their DAW software.

Prices and Discounts

As of now, the Hatsune Miku NT / Piapro Studio package is retailing for 19,800 JPY (~$180 USD).

Not only that, but users who own a previous generation of Miku qualify for a discount! Having any Miku vocal from VOCALOID2 to V4X lowers the price to 15,400 JPY (~$140 USD).
